Graphics

Genesis x Phantom

A trip through California, from Santa Cruz down to Malibu. The prints on wetsuits and vans from the 80s; floral, saturated, completely unapologetic; struck me for how closely they echoed the shapes of water. The shoulder curve of a breaking wave, the repeated arc of a petal. That formal parallel between the plant world and the swell is where this entire collection began.

The floral patterns are not a decorative choice. They are a graphic translation of water in motion — rounded forms, repetition, organic rhythm. The warm, high-contrast palette roots Phantom in a surf culture that predates performance branding: one where rider and environment move as a single gesture.

Foils

Alice szalajski & Gonzalo Redondo × Phantom — D3 applied technology

At D3 Applied Technologies, we develop state-of-the-art solutions in aero- and hydrodynamic simulation, performance prediction, and optimisation. Building on expertise gained through world-class sailing challenges like the America's Cup, we collaborated with Phantom Watersports to design the most efficient wing foil range on the market.

  • Section optimisation algorithms combined with a CFD setup including a custom-calibrated transition model enabled accurate evaluation of section characteristics. Thousands of profiles were simulated to optimise behaviour across the operating range, improving high-speed performance, angle-of-attack tolerance, and delaying flow separation for enhanced pumping ability.
  • Planform design was refined to enhance hydrodynamic efficiency and glide performance. Anhedral geometry improves roll stability, taper ratio and sweep angle achieve an optimal spanwise lift distribution, and winglets reduce induced drag in surface-piercing conditions — delivering smooth, progressive flight with stable handling and intuitive feel.

Throughout the process, we worked closely with world-class riders like Nicolas Goyard, combining engineering rigour with on-water feedback to ensure a flight experience that blends performance with pure sensations on the water.

Board Design

Nico Goyard × Phantom

As a racer, my life is measured in knots and degrees of lift. When I began collaborating with Phantom Watersports on the technical design of our Wing board range, I didn't want to just "tweak" existing shapes. I wanted to strip everything back and build a collection based on the pure physics of flight and the raw sensations I experience on the World Tour.

The Obsession with Efficiency:

For me, a board is a precision instrument. If it doesn’t help you fly sooner or stay up longer, it’s not doing its job. I focused my design work on three technical pillars:

The Release:

I obsessed over the bottom hull and rail geometry. By optimizing water release, we’ve created boards that pop out of the water with minimal effort. You don't fight the surface; the board helps you break free of it.

The Recovery:

In high-performance winging, touchdowns are inevitable. I designed the nose and rails to be "forgivingly aggressive"—meaning the board skips and bounces back into flight instead of catching or sticking. It keeps your momentum alive when it matters most.

The Direct Link:

Power is nothing without control. I worked on a specific deck concave and ultra-stiff carbon layup to ensure that the slightest foot pressure is transmitted instantly to the foil. There is no lag, no "mushy" feel—just a surgical connection to the water.

I wanted to translate my racing data into a shape that makes sense for every rider. Whether you are chasing speed records or carving your first clean lines, you are riding the exact same technical DNA that I rely on to win titles.

SUP

Marco Juliot × Phantom — Maku Surf

I've been riding every kind of boards my whole life, from windsurfing, surfing, stand up paddling, foiling…

Every sensation I feel while gliding are datas I can report to my shapes. — It's a conversation between the shaper and the water. When Phantom came to me, I knew straight away we were speaking the same language.

Together we built two boards that represent what I believe a SUP should be.

The 10'2 is the one I shaped for the surfer in all of us. Fine lines, responsive, alive — put it in a wave and it does exactly what your body asks. No hesitation, no compromise.

The 10'8 is for the days when you just want to be out there. Long, smooth, effortless. The kind of board that makes you forget the time and just paddle.

Two very different boards, but the same DNA — shaped with intention, built to perform.

I'm proud of what we achieved together for the first SUP Phantom Range.
